Just a few minutes to figure out another silhouette and to give some touches ... and we're in the other most famous Carnevale in the world with centuries of renown reputation all over, in Venezia (Venice).
Actually in Italy there's also Viareggio, in Versilia, as a top event.
There, since very long time, many big allegorical and satyrical wagons, with huge papier-maché figures, characters and caricatures moving by hidden gears, and disguised people on-board parade along the main street. The parade is traditionally broadcasted all over Italy.
Many other and different event happen in the various part of our country, such as the ornage fight in Ivrea to celebrate an ancient historical fight of that town with foreigh invading troops.
BUON CARNEVALE, MARDI' GRAS or however You may call it!

Great stencil Cesare and it should generate some lively colours.:)

I love these Carnival series...great stencil effects as Katie has said..;):):)

Thank You, dear Katie and Gary! Actually I created a stencil rather than using one and it may be used in many ways to control the final figuere tones and textures.

Anyone willing to give a try also to a New Orleans Carnival illustration?

I put a thread on the project section, dear Sandra, so I hope someone will accept the challenge to imagine and draw or paint what figure could fit the shape. Thank You!

Maybe I am, dear Shibui, although now Carnival period is up, today it's Ashes Wednesday, the start of Lent, time of penace up to Easter.
Remind we should all die and repent!:(;):)

A little bit like the Chinese Shadows Theatre, dear Jibes. I find this style to be also quite intriguing because it leaves much to the imagination, thus it could be also interesting and subtly enticing for a simultaneously understated and evocative erotic painting I guess ... Thank You!

A most lovely silhouette dear Cesare:):)

02-23-2012, 03:26 PM
Very nice ;)

02-23-2012, 08:58 PM
Thank You, dear Amanda! Just the second one of my Carnevale dyptic (the first one being at Rio de Janeiro).
I found ilhouette painting very intriguing and a good test to see how good my inner view could be.

... and discreetly inviting in my conception, dear SCP. :D Thank You!

02-24-2012, 11:50 AM
When I get a chance I will take you up on your interesting challenge;)

02-24-2012, 09:04 PM
Thank You, dear SCP. I'm pretty sure You'll get a quite original version. :p I will try too ... sooner or later ...

02-25-2012, 02:49 AM
I am sorry. I am not happy with the results. I tried.

02-25-2012, 05:50 AM
No problem at all, dear Albert. I can understand You. Too much early plastic surgery specimen going on dancing and showing off in these days with quite unnatural gravitational oscillations :p.
Sometimes I wonder if in the future we'll have to consider a differentiated burial or cremation too for echological reasons.:D

02-26-2012, 11:09 PM
more please cesare hehehe!!!!:)

02-27-2012, 10:03 PM
As You wish, dear Katie! Just look to the Project Section then .... ;):)

02-28-2012, 01:45 AM
I apologize to have got You a little flooded, dear Katie.
I therefore promise to stop silhouetting and wait for a while, up to when You'll wish to get some new one to play with.
Then, should You have any specific requirement on what You would like to have sketched that way, just tell me.:)

Thank You, dear Weeks.
I understand she liked the place and had a good time.
Here's the original silhouette turned into a "full fledged" character. :)

02-29-2012, 06:44 AM
The silhouette painting thread, for whoever else wish to have some fun is in the Project Section with more silhouettes too. :)

You see, it was always meant to be yours. Beautiful work and the clothing is exquisite.

02-29-2012, 09:12 PM
Thank You, dear Albert. I used some past developped sheet for the dress fabric. I only had to find the right tones for shades and shadows.
