beautifully done Sapphire. quite wonderful painting. it could benefit hugely from a crop to enhance the focal points and balance the negative areas. see what you think.

Thank you screenpainter for your imput.
The original painting is done 2048 x 2048, the Mink and the log are the only thing I copied from the photo the water and reeds were done to fill the empty space.
The 8x10 crop is to make for easier printing onto canvas.
I see where you are coming from about the empty space, your crop is great apart from cutting off the tip of the tail.

New crop keeping to 8x10 added wiskers

Your paintings are always spectacular!

The light on the fur is so delicately painted, at first you don't realize how much work it must have taken ... And the word "balance" comes to mind, how the painter has insisted on strong horizontals in the water, verticals in the grasses, curves everywhere, and the diagonal-poised mink, energy at rest ...

Thank you Ceasar for your very kind comment.

Thank you Chinapete, in the original photo there was to much going on with broken logs grasses and reeds, the log was perched on the edge of the water so thought I would expand on that theme.

Thank you justjean for you kind comment.
