I loved the way you handle the color and texture. Like your other art works, your concept and imagination are really interesting and full of surprise.

Love this, the colors just combust like fire off the canvas.
Really captures the spirit of the season as well :)

Ah, Ms Coops. . . whoever shall walk the Cock o' the Walk walks a cocked up walk. . . um. . . cock walkin'. . . walker walkin. . . frizzle frazzle dance rinkin' oiaoa T)DHE( *ADA 9aH9auifga oia . . . . . That's who rules the roost!

Any questions?

Setting the theme aside for a moment, if we may, I would like to point out your remarkable brushwork has taken on a rhythmic feel, although you disguised it somewhat, which is a remarkable thing to do such that it does not draw attention to itself immediately, but is there as a second read.

Following from the rooster's beak and down the classic S curve on the neck and around the body and out to the tail calls in the element of time. And we see the brushwork speaking boldly throughout.

Love the muddy, rusty, shanty feel. That it's dominated by red calls in association with the Blues, the Robert Johnson's deal with the Devil at the Crossroads, and the dancing that carries on as promised.

. . .very American myth Coops. :D

Oh, that's glorious. The color, the light, the forms, the texture, the vibrancy, the life! It's lovely!

A classic dancer dressed like a Oba-Oba one! :p
You mean the lady rules the cock? So it's probably the gentle Mrs. Angela Merkel on M. Sarko disguised as the French symbol (le coq) .... :D

Dear Mr Akey, I am so flattered by your comments which again are a delight to read as they are full of fun as well as a little flattering which I do appreciate. BTW I do remember that song you mentioned and your kind words bring a different feel to it. Love the pun at the end of your words too. Thanks again:)

I very much like the themes you pick for your paintings. Also your color choices are wonderful. (For some reason me and the color red are enemies) Love everything about this painting, great work.
