Astonishing! Very very fine work, Netta.

From my childhood there were 'holy cards' of saints and such. This feels to have that sort of flavor and style, only without a particular reference (or maybe there is somewhere). But the affection and playful connection of mother to child that I get from this is saintly as far as I'm concerned. So for me it is something to use as a book mark and be reminded of, it's that good.

Thanks all, i do most all my work from photos. Actually this is a photo of a poor african woman in a villiage waiting on food line.

The palette and strokes are superb dear Netta, and subject hits me right in the gut. Bless her, and bless the suffering, it should not be so. I love this, excellent dear lady!

Yes, a very profound image of a mother feeding her child in a specific way. But that's another form of nobility, regardless of circumstances. Rising to the needs of the moment, whatever and however. 'Holy' is the word I'd use, and I would call it a universal theme expressed in a very specific, personal way.
