This is wonderful Katie. Great palette and mood as with all of your paintings.

I've been away for a while, but you paint as colorfully, freely, and vibrantly as ever coops; love this one!

A quite peculiar atmosphere in this most interesting painting. The palette is also not a very frequent one, but very nice.

Exquisite palette, Ms. Coops. And your brushwork is direct and perceptible which lends the experience an element of time, not unlike watching a dancer moving through their . . . um. . . their dance.

So whether you are painting a dancer as the subject or not, with your work, it seems a dance. And combining that aspect of movement, you have a subject and a theme, thus making it feel like story telling, as with some ballets.

Much can be read into an image such as this. Twilight, between the day and the night. Small empty sailboat with a sail up, seemingly un-piloted. Wind pushing it out, waves pulling it back. Not unlike breathing in and breathing out. etc. . .

Imagine what a dancer could do with this. . . and look at what a painter did with it. Not bad at all, Ms. Coops.
