Thanks to John Berry Photos of Deviant Art for his permission in painting a great musician, singer, and person Stevie Ray Vaughan. He titled his photo The Final Bow as this sadly was Stevie's final bow.

I didn't know what the colors were that he was wearing, but I imagined these colors. Also I used white in consideration of his presence and his passing.

I worked off and on for four days with this one. Oils and knife and John's excellent photograph of Stevie Ray.
Thanks for looking.

Thank you dear Albert, it was a pleasure. Both in using this cool software and painting such a cool man.

A very intense painting where the hard job of living and the sense of loneliness are well expressed not only by the pose, but also by the rough and worn-out surface of the wall behind. Excellent!

Cesare, You know, I researched a little, of course there is always something personal and unflattering that some one will write, and that irritates me-but from what I read he was extremely talented. So sad that the helicopter pilot chose to go out on a foggy night. Why would he chance something like this? We will never know. Thanks dear Cesare for your comment, always appreciated dear man.

Eddie, Thanks so much. I think so too. I am still amazed when I listen to him play. A tortured spirit I imagine as most artists and it is obvious when I listen that he was able to free himself just as a painter would in his painting.

Ken, I agree-he was so amazing, and his music will live on. Thanks so much!

Gary, Thanks so much. John is such a fantastic photographer and there are a few of his photo shoots with Stevie and his wife that were very touching. These were take right before his death. If you want to check them out-just look into JohnBerryPhotos in Deviant Art. A very talented photographer.

Amanda, I am so pleased that you liked this one. I really enjoyed using oils and the knife. The only problem I had was stopping. Of course I did see two spots that I need to work on...always after I upload into the gallery. Thanks so much dearest friend!

Texas bluesy rock tribute. I especially like the grit texture on the wall. He had that sort of gravely guitar in your face edge to his sound.

I absolutely loved him playing Pipeline with Dick Dale of all things. Surf worked really well -- a campy tribute to the old Beach Blanket movies.

Shame that I didn't listen to him much before I started playing guitar. Would have loved to see him live as in some of the venues seen on Youtube.

Your painting brought it all back nicely, Alexandra.

Don't know if I already posted this or not. But it's a gas.
