I found a photo from one of my favorite photographers Pajunen on Deviant Art and with his permission I could sketch it, but my imagination went wild.
I used oils and knife.
Here is my painting, my sketch, and his beautiful photography.
Thanks for looking.

Dear Gary, Deb, and Mike, Thank you!

Wonderful Alex;), it's a perfect example of how the paint is better than reality.

A nice place for biking, although I would not speed up in this alley. These kinda little ancient looking towns may have some stairs here and there at some crossing with other ones ...:D

Hi dear Silvy, thank you so very much. I do so need to practice my light and shadow...will no doubt be touching this one up. Thanks for your kind comment.

Thank you my dear friend Amanda.

Did you indeed Katie!?! Oh I would love this! When I was in Europe, I walked every where I could. I loved it. I pray that one day I may return. Thanks kind friend!

No-this would ruin my trip Cesare. No speeding for this woman...only walking-I like to take my time and view all that I can!
I purchased a wonderful book the other day with places all over the world. In some of the pages, they have just these kinds of scenes you spoke of.
When I was in Germany, and London-walking around, I could not help but wonder how old the street I was walking on was, how old the buildings were, and the people, what generation of people they were. I know...I am such a romantic. In my opinion some how history grounds a person. I think this is why I loved it so very much. Thank you!

It looks like a place I would love to stroll some day. I really like how you used the photo but used your own impressions in the painting and the sketch. Fine work Sandra!

I would feel so honored to walk down this street with the red carpet, madame. I must don a tuxedo, and have a penguin perched on my shoulder and I can face the paparazzi. . .

"Bonjour! Hello! Yes, Hi there, Gooten tag. . ."

Will be nice to see where this road takes you, Sandy. . .

Haha! Merci, Danke dear D Akey. I hope I don't disappoint dear friend. I will try my best.
