dearest Pat... the use of the neutral background colors add a soft sophisticated look and the expert brushwork on the flowers really make this a special piece.. I agree with Juz ... that one flower is very well done.;);)

Thankyou all for your wonderful comments, I am really happy that you like this one and really appreciate your taking a look:)
Juz, this was one of those happy mistakes, it started out as a different flower and I did not like the way it turned out, so I thought I would try something to salvage it, so I used the soft knife on 30 and started in the center of the flower and pulled all the colors out to make the peddles and was very happy with the results, so glad you like it:)

It feels to me like there is lots of watery atmosphere, as on a rainy day. On such days, the garden takes on a sort of luminosity where the colors seem to come from within. I see it time and again when it rains out here. Beautiful quality to this. They almost feel as if they're moving.

Dear Pat, it looks like we share the passion for watercolors, although I worked on very few real ones (including watercolor pencils). I rather struggled with soft pastels and school teaching to my two boys unfortunately ...

Hi there Caesar, as I mentioned in my other painting, it is so nice to have you back, I have been trying to improve my wc and I do love it so much, it takes a lot of practise but well worth it, so I paint a few wc and then paint oil to get sort of a break lol, looking towards your next piece my dear friend:):)
