All excellent! The clouds in the middle one are so dramatic!
The swan is great, and I love the thoughtful pose and detail on the girl as well.
Good stuff! Welcome to the forums!

More wonderful stuff.

All excellent but the picture of the child is beautiful. You managed to paint someone thinking, that's very difficult. Unfocussed eyes, slightly open mouth, perfect!

tomzuk- Welcome to the forums! Thanks for posting these excellent pictures. I get a Van Gogh feeling from the second one. I love the colors in all of them. Aged P's comment on the alive and thinking appearance of the child is right on. Well done.

Heeeey, I recognise 18.jpg from the old ArtRage galleries. =] Your work is just amazing. Thank you for showcasing such different styles in each of your pieces. And a special nod to the folds of the cloth in the child's jumper, and to your animations. Superb.

Tom, I stumbled across your posts, and I came across these...
I don't know if you're still posting on here, but you do some AMAZING ART!
I especially love the Swan & Portraits. Your one of the fields reminds me of Van Gogh's style, and 20jpg reminds me of nerve centers... Very Interesting!!
Very well done!

LoL.... Well DAkey, That's just the way I am.... I like digging for hidden treasures...
I'm always amazed by all Skill, Talent, and Artwork on this forum. So, I figure I can learn alot by starting from at the back (before I joined the forum) & working my way forward.
When I visited the museums in Paris & England, I was the same way...
There was just sooo much to See, but not enough time. :(
So many treasures here, and I thought These little treasures were special enough to bring out of the chest.

I always use reference images, but sometimes used tracing image for better proportions. For example, in "Louis-Philippe_ok.jpg". It was made with tracing image, because I haven't time to play with his uniform.

"lotar.jpg" and "urban II duzy.jpg" based on old prints in refenence image.
Other based on photos in refenence image.

Pictures without reference images or tracing paper below :) .

Is it photo or photorealistic picture?
OK, this picture have big format 4000 x 3000.
I used oil brush and palette knife. Based on photo.
Tracing paper to verification proportions for pencil sketch, reference image for color.

Well, there's the continuity. Glad you're working.

I found that when I was in a studio situation that one subject was much like another. And the technical aspect was where my challenge was.

Well. it explains why you're so good. You paint a lot.

Good to see you still going strong tomzuk. Your variety is great to see. I'm in a similar situation with the need to produce many styles of art in my daily work. It is good practice I find. Keep posting.

What a baby picture!

I can see this kid is in for some portrait sittings.

Fantastic.

I would perhaps make the doctor's rubber glove a little different in texture from the baby's skin, so that she looks different from everything else - so new and just arrived.

But even if you didn't it's no big deal. If the painting isn't exactly perfect, just keep having children so you can experiment with the painting that moment.

Anyway. . .

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Superb job. I would agree with maybe glove having same strokes as the baby gets a bit busy for the eyes. Funny I don't mind it in the scrubs or the baby...just the glove.
But still a painting to be very proud of... it is finely executed and very detailed. The hair on the baby is fantastic.

D Akey - just like that?

D Akey
09-20-2007, 04:45 AM
Just like that. Perfect.

The baby's skin now stands apart so it becomes a matter of her skin being wrinkled and not just an art technique.

A unique portrait. I've never seen anyone painting that moment. Very fine job. :D :D :D

I just adore 02 - it has that Van Gogh feeling to it :D and how the different textures do create a contrast yet stay in harmony with each other (sky vs earth).

Also the lights on the swan and the little girl is most realistic - You are so talented !!

FurrTrap
12-01-2007, 09:18 PM
Yes lovely work. I like all three. The middle one reminds me of Van Gogh. The child and the swan are subtle and sensitive, very fine. The field seems to be dancing, bending, swirling. Very energetic and passionate! :D
