I thought, for a change, I would post something that I am still in the middle of painting. Showing the layers. The last layer shows where the detailing of the piece is going.

skylar... fantastic... it is so neat to see how you arrive at the end result of your fantastic paintings and I love trees especially oaks...the bits of grass and surrounding foliage are interesting to note how you just use a few bits to tease out the sense of thick grasses... :cool::cool::cool::):):)

hi Skylar i like your metod to painte whith some layers but i did'nt know, I try... I like this painting, very well done and great style:cool::)

This is so rich!!!!!! Very engaging. And thanks for the tutorial/WIP thing. Adds a lot of dimension to the viewing experience -- especially when it ultimately becomes so seamless.

Gorgeous! I love the play of light and shadow, and the softness of the brush strokes. I want to dive into that scene and sit on the bank and read my book! :D
