Neal... nice work I like the heavy blacks of the forest and bright colors of the figures.. it has a great density of feeling to it....:cool:;)...

I love it so nicely loose, Jibes. Perfect hues and you really can paint the story in the picture. Just wonderful. :)

Feels profound in the technique, as if an anecdote being told by an omniscient, wizened old commentator who is about to wrap the significance up in a few choice comments. Told in a resonant but gravely voice.

There's a quality to the brushwork and black, especially crisscrossing in the sky like a cage that carries a distinct weight, despite the obvious joy. That could certainly work for you.

I see this as a reunion before or after an ordeal, I think it would be great for something like that. For a little kid's birthday party with Fischer-Price toys and pinatas, not so much. The tone is all in the style.

Very cool.

The wanderer has returned, or so it seemed to me, at first glance.
Interesting painting, Jibes. :)

Thanks Pat Ken Mr D and Hinket! You have (and all those before) said some very nice things and I appreciate it a whole lot!
It's really one of those paintings that just start out of no where and you push it along as best you can. I was going to define their faces but at the end I decided to just give them a swatch with a brush stroke and let it go at that. One can fill in the rest. :)
