He would have been so pleased with this portrait of him. This is classical beauty ...he looks so alive...love the hues a lot. Hope he did survive and had a happy live.

I bet your painting looks better than the old photograph you must have used as a reference .. the eyes are amazing :)

Wonderful portrait and tribute Tom. You made me think of the photograph given to me of my paternal great grandfather in WWI war in France. He was so young.

I love art which reminds on books. This one reminds me on Jaroslav Hašek. I know there is nothing in common. Just the same time ...the same world. :)
