This was inspired by my friend, Dal Windberg's classic painting. I took his idea of the snifter & rose, and did my version of it - adding a few touches as I went. 100% Fine Art Digital Painting. In 4 layers. In the style of Oils on canvas. Orig size appx 12x16" at 300 ppi

I love these detailed 'snap shots' of the reality which surrounds us in the closed environment. For me it's not only still life. It express kind of indispensable distance to the surreal madness of the outer world... :)

Thank you all!!! It started from my looking at some old photos. I ran across some of Dal Windberg. That led me to review some of his works. A personal favorite has always been his snifter & rose - I think he called it "Irredescence", or something. Please look up his works, he did amazing things.

WOW I love this. I have never done still life , but starting to because it's good practice for transparcy with glass painting.

Netta - Thank you for commenting. I have found still lifes surprisingly hard, considering most only consist of a few items. I try to do objects of diff textures to challenge myself. The Composition is also critical. They have to hang together in some sort of harmony, or juxtaposition.
