I was so inspired by Scott's painting...Silo, he made something boring into a fine art piece, so just wanted to take a old key and try to create something of interest, so hope you like it, definately not a Scott, but enjoyed doing it......oil and knife

pat this is an amazing effort by you:eek::eek:.... you have captured the character of the old iron key with it highlights, patina, small nicks and given it meaning... this is a very very fine painting... you should try a few more.. you seem to have a real talent for this kind of detail work.:D:D:D:):):):):)

Very good Pat, I really like the 3 dimension effect that you have created.
I could pick it up and it would fit into the lock perfectly.

Your 'Key' is perfectly surfaced and lit. Very believably shown. Pretty mysterious key, I would say :)

Yes! The simplest object can be an inspired painting - as it is here. I love doing every-day items, elevating them to the iconic.
