You excel at these watery forest scenes, there is so much life that you bring to them.

Skylar - such a nice painting!... it has so many credible details in the lighting, water over stones, trees and forest... what is your painting background? who inspired you to paint so wonderfully...if you don't mind me asking?....this is suberb work as are all of your works I have seen so far...:D:D:D:D

MSIE, GZ - Thanks so much for the comments - Especially about "no ref". I have painted landscapes(traditional media) for almost 40 years. After that much time, you build up quite an image bank in your mind.

Jean, Jibes, Frisch, Tony, Muir, SheC, Limey, Sandy, Coops, Amanda - Thank you, each and everyone. Your words inspire me.

GXH - Thanks so much! I grew up with the prints of Maxfield Parrish all over my grandparent's house, and some beautiful landscapes owned by my parents. When I was 13, I was given my first paints, and have painted since. I studied in Italy, Hawaii, & California - all places with magical views. I have a degree in Art, and consider Monet my personal saint.

When I start a landscape, I usually have the basic idea already. But, I use the Brush at 100% to lay in large areas of color. Then I go back & pick out shapes and objects from those large areas, refining each area as I go. Then I do an over-view of the whole, to unify color and elements.
