View Full Version : in the moment

Experimenting about with oils and wet blenders and wanted to leave some brush marks showing at different places. I would have kept playing about but something within said, "stop." so I did, I signed it and called it good.

It's not really anything in particular. Just colors floating in space. I had the most beautiful visions after I did two more of these I will share in the other gallery and then laid down to sleep. Almost couldn't sleep for wanting to keep enjoying the picture show unfolding.

Very nice. n_n I enjoy playing around in ArtRage like this as well. It sometimes gives me ideas for more elaborate paintings or I'll use my "play time" results as backgrounds for something else.

GZ - these are great.. nice to hear of others just playing around with AR and colors... I particularly like the few little "oil brush" marks... kinda appleals to the minimalist in me..:D:D

Thanks Pat. They are relatively simple to do yes and fun to do.
Thanks MSIE. it is a bit like music to me. the colors would be good with music:)
ghx, I am glad you liked these. I really fell for that idea of leaving a bit of untouched oil brush yes. I like that part too. must be the minimalist in me as well. :)

gz - I just have to share with you that these paintings have just captured my imagination and sparked something... they have been in my head for the past few days....:eek::cool::cool::cool::cool: I did The Convoy as one result but that is not quite what I am getting from your work.... something will come of this I am sure...:D:D:D

Katie, I am very glad you liked them. I think my purpose was just to make something beautiful out of color and blending... additional images were not intended, but that is the ever searching artist in you. :)
I saw the most beautiful canvases in my mind after making these. wish I could have recorded my brain that night for future reference. :)

glad you were inspired by these Gary. :)

Great title GZ. At the moment is that wt the colors are talking among themselves. The knife is the judge. I think this kind of exercise is a fantastic thing to do. I think, I think not, I'm sure more will come around. Congratulations GZ.

I love the first one, when I first opened the page without reading what you had written, I saw a colour version of a baby floating in a womb, the colours give a feeling contentment and warmth.

Thanks Oriane.
Thank you Saphire. I felt something about it warmed the soul as well.
