I am actually working on a second, more elaborated animation draw in the excellent ArtRage. This one is about two children fantasying how it would be to live on a fun fair. I'm currently creating art work to define the look and style. I'll update this thread if I have something interesting new to show. :)

Today's labour: The fun fair from a distance during day, evening and night. Done in Art Rage and Photoshop for the additions like stars/lights etc.

Your paintings are outstanding, I love the atmosphere in them, the colors, the content, they make me want to smile. :D

These images are very striking and definately stand out in a crowd. Great to see this kind of work being done in AR. You are taking such good advantage of the texture capabilities of this software.

bakenius
04-25-2006, 08:15 AM
@sbug51:

Yes, all the hills are done on seperate layers, tomorrow I will set this drawing out in a basic 3D set within After Effects so I'll be able fly to the fair with a camera. I hope. We'll see.

@Fashmir:

It's the texture I do it for, else I could just use Photoshop. And in Painter it takes me twice as much time to get a same sort of effect.

sbug51
04-25-2006, 09:32 AM
i can imagine how it will go, with the hills sliding away, to the left and right, while approching the living festival... wow man really amazing!

and did you read that ambient team ;) less time it takes him less time on artrage than on painter hehehe! artrage rocks man!

AndyRage

This is such fantastic work.
The way you use the colours and shading, the style, the theme - everything about this is great!

Um,... AndyRage..? May we assume that these sorts of apocalyptically stunning, ravishingly gorgeous, and brain-searingly COOL sorts of output will be available in ArtRage3?

:lol:

Heh. No.
But Team Ambient is seriously considering putting an animated ArtRage into the product roadmap somewhere. It would probably be a different application to ArtRage - it would have the same painting features but an animators UI and tools as well. We wouldn't want to clutter ArtRage proper with too many tools. Better to split it off into a different product.

Fantastic and thrilling idea AndyRage!! :D

This work is indeed astonishingly great! ... and gives an idea of artrage potential....

Andy, I would definetly love to see an animated ArtRage. A real 2D animation software, natural media oriented, with artrage simplicity and efficiency, focused on traditional hand-drawn animation is something that we really miss in our today's digital world....
Considering a (still?) sweet pricing point and a Mac os port as Artrage already has, I would love it! :wink:

Some kind of Artrage+onion skinning+timeline ? :roll:

thnx for the good work, you artrager coders and artists!

Beautiful, kid-appeal plus! (not to say that adults won't love it too). And the animation knocked my socks off.

Well dont hold your breath. Software development is a very slow process, and we have a very busy roadmap.

i had a dream the other day i was painting on people using artrage's brush it was cool, then when i woke up i had this idea, why not have it involve into 3d texturing, maybe like z-brush, but then again it will be saved like for artrage5 3d edition version ;) eheh.

The scene I worked on today, a woman throwing darts. It's cool how diffuse you can go with the crayon tools to create a cozy and dreamy effect. :D

Oh wow this is fantastic.
'Warm and cozy' is exactly it. It's like a hug from mom!
The shading and lighting on the hand is awesome. The pose is perfect, the dynamics are perfect.
I'm just going to have to say it's all wonderful because I'm running out of superlatives.

Gotta love everything you have done, and anxiously looking forward to more. I am still blown away by your use of crayons, I messed around with them the other day after seeing your great artwork and didn't get much of a result with them. You have inspired me to keep trying though!

These films are breathtaking! I wish I could go to the cinema one day and watch your 120 mins movie!

It reminds me Roxette "Joyride" hit, they had some funfair in the background in a clip, and elephant and rollercoaster :)
