Did someone say that Spring has finally sprung because I
concluded that winter here would never end. Someone once
said that I tend to paint what I feel and boy have I been
feeling awfully cold for aaaaawfully long so I thought it might
be appropriate to post some frosty impressions before the
Crocuses start to bloom. ( If ever!) Otherwise I will have to
save the below entries until next winter and by that time I
might be snowed under and spending my free time on rustling
up Gopher stew ...a cold weather staple for we rural people.

The inspiration for the below painting came from a frost incrusted
window. It is titled, "Frosted Window Pane." :)

Below are two photos that I thought you might enjoy. The first is
titled, "Flash Frozen" and the second, "Illuminated Blizzard."

A raging snow storm rolled in one night and out I went with camera.
I noticed how the glow of the street light was almost obliterated
with wind swept snow ... took the picture then ran back into house
as fast as my fast freezing legs could carry me before I too was
swept away by the Arctic blast from Hell. What fun!!! :)

I was watching a picture post card snowfall from my window one
evening and thought about how each snowflake is reported to be
different and unique. This painting is the result of my love and
enjoyment of this most decorative season. It is titled, "Celebrate
the Differences." :)

A few more winterized photos that I thought I'd post before
they begin to thaw out due to the fact I think it's April now. :o :)

1) "Reflections in Blue."
2) "March Regalia."
3) "Winter Wonderland and ....
4) "Solitude."

The below painting was conceived by a combination of inspirations
and of course ... my hobby, seasonal celestial meanderings, titled,
"Moonglow." :)

Hi gzairborne,
I must have a genetic predisposition to the Alaskan tundra because I
really love winter. (as well as the other three seasons!) It breaks up the
monotony of a perpetual three hundred and sixty five day oneness. :(

What a gracious response, g.z., a sincere thank you! :)

Its so good to see your wonderful photos Mairzie they have really been missed. You are an artist with the camera as well as the brush. I love your painting called Moonglow. Its as if the moon goddess is floating through the air and we are gazing through her hair of spun gold looking at the moon. Beautiful thread.:)

Beautiful pictures of that long season, that, it's hard to believe, we will invite back soon. Incredibly beautiful. This captures the season in a realistic way.

justjean,
Am happy that you noticed the welcome sign on this Art Rage thread
door and decided to visit and enjoy the Jack Frost presentations and
in particular, "Frosted Window Pane." If desired, please feel free to
scratch off a bit of that fancy window ice so I can see if the mailman
came yet. :D ;) :)

coops,
Sincerely, what a lovely response .... thank you so much! "Moonglow"
seemed to breeze in out of nowhere and as you most eloquently
mentioned ... much like a moon goddess might. I must also give credit
to a generous sprinkling of silvery Art Rage moon dust paint thrown in
for good measure. :)

Lee,
Your positive response on the wintery images is much appreciated ... a
warm and toasty thank you! The street light photo is also one of my
favorites. For some reason it reminds me of a scene from one of those
late night vintage black and white Robert (sigh! :o) Mitchum movies. :)

This mix of pictures and inspired paintings is as unique as marvellous.
Your 360 artistic sensitivity spans from verses, through paintings and up to pictures which, in my opinion, have good chances to get some award in a contest!

Muir Dragonne,
Your gracious response is very welcome and appreciated, thank you!
The paintings represent chilly winter impressions but also imbedded
therein is your perceptive concept as having a serenity as well as a
fond, admirable connection with the beauty of the season. :)

a perceptive meterorologist as well as an artist because the Pa. chill
HAS taken a turn for the better. :)

waheednasir,
A heartfelt thank you for responding so positively. I really became
absorbed in the "Moonglow" painting while creating it. Quite a few
"late nighter's" were involved before I could say, " There, it's done!" :)

Caesar,
May I express my genuine gratitude for such a wonderful response
on the paintings and photo expressions ...a most gracious thank you! :)

I have been acting like an unruly kid let loose in a candy store with
my camera, even carrying it around in my purse, per chance I might
see something worthwhile to photograph and ... IF by chance I
should be ambushed by SOMEONE'S alian pit bull dog ... at the least
I will have proof of the injurious ordeal for the authorities ... and the
plastic surgeons who specialize in the point farthest from the front
reconstructive work! ;) :D :D :D
