Dear Pat, Your paintings are a joy!!!:)

It's a really marvellous painting. I had no doubt You would have exploited the hint so masterfully.

Dear Pat, chiostro means cloister, the inner yard (sometimes with a garden or a pool) of a monastry or a palace surrounded by a portico (arcade; a covered walking side) all around its perimeter. The word comes from Latin, claustrum (lock), originally connected to enclosure (same etimologycal root) place of secluded monks or nuns.

Chi non risica, non rosica! (hope that says what I think it says). Nothing ventured nothing gained! A beautiful painting Pat!:D

Lee, what a nice thing to say, thankyou so much;)
Caesar, what a kind comment, appreciate it so much, and thanks for the meaning of the word, I thought it would be something like that, we call them courtyards;)
Thanks Sketch, so glad you liked it, it seems that some of the colors washed out after uploading, but I heard that happens quite often;)

pat1940, this is a very nice painting and i like the design and architecture of the structure and those plants add a lot to make it look really good..:).

just a small friendly suggestion only if u agree, i might add shadows from those plants on the walls, that will define and enhance their position and will add dimension to the whole piece. i even like this as is, its very well done with a nice airy atmosphere that uve captured very well..:).
