Thanks, Pat1040.
I'm glad I turned on my computer instead of the T.V. that night.

What eyes the octopus has!

This reminds me of an experience in the younger days on fishing for squids and octopus by using the live females ones for baits.

Tell me is this one a female or male?

Good time spending on this painting indeed.:)

A viking octopus! I don't know this crature, but I guess it's an outcome of some submarine nuclear experiment ...:D

Good question.
The monster is based on something H.P. Lovecraft cooked up. I haven't read his stories, but his "C'thulu" creature has become something of in icon in the world of monsters.
The original C'thulu was a ancient entity with an octopus head, scary claws and wings. Traditionally he's depicted as a scary, alien creature, but if you Google the name you'll see plenty of silly and cute spin offs.

Thank you, gzairborne!

Usually the character isn't drawn with horns, but I think it makes him more ornery looking.
I don't remember the official story of C'thulu's origins. "Submarine nuclear experiment result" works for me.

A strange but very likable looking creature
Thanks, mannafig.
