This is a 2nd try at painting old weathered wood...I hope I have improved

Actually thought I was looking at a photo then. The only nitpick that I can say is that if it was truly weathered wood, it wouldn't be as straight and clean cut. But the grain and colour is wonderful!

Hi Steve. Wow, it's a giant leap forward. Vast improvement. If you want to carry it a step further it might be to take the clean black lines that separate the boards and break them up using the various local colors' shadow, highlight, and build in a little raggedness and splinter. Here's a photo that might give you some ideas for addressing where the boards meet if you want to take that step. Again, a great leap. :):):):):)

Steve, I thought the first one was good, but this is a big improvement. Very nice job. :)

ah Steve that is just amazing. what a difference. beautiful work. I do think Byron has a valuable tip to take it even one step further with more broken lines in the seams, but this is a huge improvement over first attempt. This really looks like wood grain.
