I hope you like this one, this is done in watercolor so if anyone has any comments good or bad, would appreciate it as I am not to good with watercolor, this is after the rain in Amish Country

Pat, don't stop working with the watercolor. You are doing just fine. You have captured the feel of Amish Country. Nothing more fun then riding through the farm lands and stopping at the roadside produce stands.

This is GREAT! (just one thing - The top of the Right Front wheel should be obscured by the Cabin)

It's beautiful. The watercolor brush is wonderful but not easy to work with. You're developing a terrific skill with it. I love the painting. :)

wonderful pic Pat.
There is a little place north of where I live that has a little caution sign
along the road to Lake Roosevelt featuring a buggy and horse on it.
watch out... buggy crossing.
I should really get a pic of that this summer. :)

Pat, I know nothing about using watercolors, but I do know that I like this - a lot! Well done.:):)

It was vaguely reminding me of painting I already saw (or part of it). Now I found it.
Here it is: a XiX century De Nittis painting.

Dear Pat, was sure you can undo the top of the right front wheel but have got to say, Simply Beautiful!!! the way you have the wet road after a rain shower, it is such a masterly touch, the reflection of the caution sign is just wonderful!!! a real joyful and peaceful painting!!!:)

You're welcome, dear Belvrog and thanks to You dear Pat to have reminded me of a painting and a master I like very much.

Here's a link of Giuseppe De Nittis paintings. Just check each legend because there's also some case of paintings of some other authors here and there in the pool:

and here the Wikipedia in English and Italian (with some paintings) respectively:

Caesar, so glad my painting reminded you of this artist, checked him out and I can see why he is one of your favorite, love his paintings, I read his bio and did you know he was a friend of Degas, it was very interesting:D

Beautiful peaceful painting and a wonderful subject Pat. Excellent work with the watercolors!

02-25-2011, 07:10 AM
Great work Pat, congratulations:)

Good fix on the wheel. I can't believe I missed it on the original. I chalk it up to being taken with how well the whole painting holds together. As you can see from all the great responses, the painting has struck a particularly positive chord with everyone. Coming back for another visit, I'm quite in love with it. :):)

Silvy, I really appreciate you taking the time to look and comment, thankyou;)
Byron, what a wonderful comment, I am so glad you like it, and what a nice thing to say why you did not notice the wheel the first time, I cant make that excuse, I think I was going bug-eyed from painting so long:D:D:D
