Still onto the music thing. This is Joaquín Sabina, one of the most popular Spanish artists in the last 20 years. He´s more of a rocker than Aute, but has a great gift of poetry mixed with his songwriting. It´s a shame that you won´t be able to understand the lyrics. You could try “googling” them, but poetry rarely translates very well.

He suffered a stroke in 2001, caused by his lifestyle, and went into a depression that lasted about 4 years. Now he´s back and roaring—selling out every venue. After the stroke, he quit smoking for 8 months (which he called the longest 8 months of his life). I saw him in an interview in Buenos Aires when he made his return, and he smoked 7 or 8 cigarettes in about 35 minutes and went through a couple of tumblers of whisky. At least now he claims to have given up drugs and his late night antics.

Below are a few links that you might find of interest. In a few he´s noticeably younger:

“Con la frente marchita” (It´s the story of a man who falls in love with an Argentine in exile during the dictatorship. He goes every Sunday to see her, and one day she´s gone back to Buenos Aires.)

"Don't it always seem to go that ya don't know what you've got till it's gone. . ."

Anyway, there have been a ton of great artists who I only discover when they have just died.

You should be doing album covers, Scott. Nice image again.

As I said in previous post, you are a good Spanish music lover, and if Sabina Aute is good even better.
But what remains unchanged is his love for painting, great job mate.

I see Your style is as amazing on portraits as it is on landscapes! Bravo!
Thanks also for Your information on such a great artist making the world more global also culturally and free from the past limited boundaries of commercial music business excluding so much quality and areas from their circuits ...
