This painting is getting full now... Not sure I'll be able to squeeze any more in.

Playwrights would agree that if you put a glass of wine on the mantle in the first act, it needs to be drunk by Act 3. Not just a good idea, it's the law.

Very homey. (and glad it was a glass of wine and not a pistol.)

You appear to be painting like the gentleman squire. Well done and hope all is blissful as this very abundant painting.

Love this Neil! Nothing like my own home, but very much like just as well. A house full of what you love and a fine dog--who needs more? (Letīs not tell the ladies ).

Great one Neill. Love the dog's expression. :)

It's gorgeous Neal. I too loved the expression on the dog's face.
one small thing I suggest is to remove the outline of the flame which will serve to unify the whole picture artistically. It's beautiful work indeed.

It's the very place where I'd like to spend long winter evenings.:):):)

I love the play of light on the brick wall as well as the over all composition and textures.

A charming painting in every way Neil. I love the dog especially. Dog and wine, warm fire, and a good book-perfect setting.:)

Very nice painting indeed. I assume the slippers are just out of view, to go with the pipe. The only thing that worries me is your friend looks a bit mischievous and and wants to play or go for a walk! :D
