I have seen some of alkratzer's paintings he made in artrage and noticed how closely they emulated soft pastel.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to duplicate Alkratzer's technique. I would like him to post here and demonstrate what he does to achieve a realistic soft pastel look.

Hi Ryan,

Sorry for the belated response -- I have not been in the forum lately and just received your request. I'll post a tutorial sometime soon -- I essentially use Art Rage Chalks plus pallet knives to get the combination of blends and texture. I have also found that Photoshop has a wonderful pastel brush that does a great job of adding those effects that look like pastels held long-ways against the paper and rubbed over a background color for a textured secondary color.
