View Full Version : Summer Memories

Inspired by AT-TA's gorgeous "Snowdrops," I attempted a departure from my usual style of details. Not to be! Too many years of tedious (though strangely therapeutic) scratchboard and colored pencil drawing has doomed me to looking for details within the details.

Fine job indeed. I have a problem too on details, never seem to know when to quit! But this painting of yours is not too detailed at all IMO.

It's a beautiful painting...

Alas I eagerly await summer... Not much of a winter person other then love Christmas & hockey...

Merry Christmas

Details are not lost even without detailing here because of Your evident mastery and capability to climb back, from detailing details, up on the top of a very effective synthesis!

"Doomed" to details is not working here because ... 'tis the captivating
details in "Summer Memories" that are to be celebrated. The lush flower
has a dimensional quality as it demurely but proudly presents itself. So
beautiful this is ... gentle and warm as a soft summer breeze. :)

Jibes, Alexandra, barnburner, semd74, Jasminek, kenomo, Caesar and Mairzie Dotes: I thank you all so much! I will continue my quest to be more spontaneous, but will not abandon what I love--detailed story scenes.
Mairzie--your words flow with such beauty! Thank you!
