I miss my grandparents (actually I never knew my father's father) and I especially miss my mother's parents by whom we all met in Christmas period and later on my two grandmas waiting for us all joining in my parent's house to celebrate together these holidays ...
But as You say in this marvellous painting and its title ... eventually we will hopefully be all home for Christmas, with all the ones we loved in a neverending Christmas around the Divine and holy protagonists of the event that changed everything a little more than 2000 years ago ....

Oh yes grandparents! The good warm feelings come with them. May all people get home wherever they are.:)

Jean, that is beautiful...
That country looks very much like where my Mother used to live before we had to bring her up here.
When the snow hits, it's a true winter wonderland.
Great job. :)

I like this one very much, jean! Even without your mentioning grandparents, it has touch of nostalgia to it.

Fantastic work. One of your best, I would say. I love the details in this painting.

Grandparents are very special people. I have lost most of them, but the time I shared with them was special and I will never forget it.

While I was able to meet mine, I did not get to meet many of the great ones, but through my genealogy research, I feel as though I have met them very well. My greatest find this year was getting to see a picture of my German born great great grandad. I'd been searching for his information for several years and someone found me and sent me a picture of him and his wife.

Magen isn't it thrilling when you get a breakthrough in genealogy, I have been searching 10 years for the name of my grt grt grandfather and found him just this past fall. :D
