The first entry is titled, " Enchanted Forest"

Second ... "Oh But to Dream"

Third ... "Decorated for Fall" and ...

Fourth ... Art Rage created titled ... "Maple."

M.D., these are just wonderful... Fall is my most favorite time of the year, and altho we had a good one this year in our area, it passes all too quickly. Nice to have a taste of it brought back.
I love the photo of the golden colors in the background, and the one with the fog.
The painting of the Maple leaf is just fantastic..

Thanks for sharing these! :):)

barnburner,
What a gracious response and sincerely ... thank you! :) You have
connected with two of my favorites. The one that you mentioned,
"the one with the fog" titled, "Oh But to Dream" was taken one misty
fall morning and was really happy with the results. To me it appears
more like a delicate painting than just a photo. :)

Below are two mood driven harvest moon entries that I hope
you will enjoy viewing. Had noticed it winking at me through
a tree one early morning this November and hoped to capture
the somber beauty of the misty halo and contrasting branches.

Added the hauntingly beautiful song, "Clair de lune" below. Just
love this rendition by "Enigma." There are also some lovely lunar
images included in the video if interested. :)

Those last two are mind melters...
They fit wonderfully in scenes ranging from a romantic evening, to an extremely scary Halloween night...

Great pics, and an excellent eye to catch them. :):)

and ...

L Skylar Brown,
You may not be aware but your touching response has captured my
heart because I feel the same way. Words, thoughts, dreams, music,
a meanful glance or just a phone call from a cherished friend can be
imagined as a poetic interlude as well as a painting, photo or prose.
Art appears in many forms as we connect with our world, our emotions,
each other and beyond. Thank you kind sir for such a lovely response. :)

Since the Autumn moon has debuted her iridescent after dark display
here ... it's only fair that her partner in celestial doings have equal time.

I captured the below rather irritated solar presence during a blustery
October afternoon and it was obvious to me that he wasn't too happy
with the oncoming change of weather and has decided to grab a passing
cloud to ward off the chill. The title ... "Transition." :)

The second entry is another one of my favorites that might be imagined
as more of a moment or two of deep thought or quiet retreat of body
and soul. I have titled it, "In My Solitude." :)

The season and palette of Autumn is a dazzle of color, form, movement
and sensations. I have called upon these impressions and painted a lively
museful observation. The title is, "Perceptions." :)

Beautiful photos Mairzie and I love those leaf paintings :):):)

justjean,
Am so happy to know that you approve ... a sincere thank you! :)

The leaf paintings are the result of my first time experiment in
integrating two photo's with the many Art Rage choices of
taking an original image and adding one's own personal creative
brush strokes, changes and ambiance. In the "Oak Leaves with
Acorns" piece there had been only one Acorn in the basic photo.
I "painted in" the 2nd. and 3rd. one for added visual appeal as
well as adding additional leaves. In "Maple" the photo was less
than stellar so I painted in contrasting colors, detailing, leaf edge
revisions and shadowing for the stem. :)

jbyrjbyr1,
Ahhhhh ... you are a man after mine own heart appreciative heart.
A most sincere thank you for your support and understanding. As
I recently mentioned ... these are not "photos" ... they are in fact
"expressions." I seem to infuse a personal connection ... whatever
the emotion into these images that become very meaningful in many
ways. Am often tramping around at the "oddest" times of day and
night ... sunny, dreary or starry night seeking out "something" that
"speaks." I only hope that my friends and neighbors understand my
new interest and not call the paddy wagon if they notice me laying
under an Oak tree with a zoom lense camera on my face. ;) :D :)

but since you speak so favorably of the colorful Oak tree , I have yet
another one that I think you might care for.

The below is dedicated to you ... your wonderful paintings and emotive

"Burning Oak" ... in your honor. :)

When coops mentioned "shimmering" ... it reminded me of a
full moon photo that I was lucky to have captured during this
autumn's full moon faze. I had noticed on my calendar that
our "shimmering" night visitor was to appear in full glory on the
night of November 21st. so I literally stayed up until all hours,
running in and out of the house in hopes that the sky would be
clear enough to greet our planetary friend with a zoom lensed
hello. Below is the result. :)

To The Rising Full Moon ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Dornburg, 1828

Wilt thou suddenly enshroud thee,

Who this moment wert so nigh?
Heavy rising masses cloud thee,

Thou art hidden from mine eye.

Yet my sadness thou well knowest,

Gleaming sweetly as a star!
That I'm loved, 'tis thou that showest,

Though my loved one may be far.

Upward mount then! clearer, milder,

Robed in splendour far more bright!
Though my heart with grief throbs wilder,

Fraught with rapture is the night! :)

Below, is yet another scene that I hope you will enjoy. It was taken
on a clear, sun kissed November morning. The reflective autumn colors
were absolutely beautiful to behold. :)

P.S.
I wore protective gear while seeking out this woodland piece. Those
indigenous thorny thistles can be murder on the ankles. :D :)

Dear Caesar,
Your suggestion of areas to be protected from your always hungry alien
pit bull dog is a bully idea, thank you and as per your concern I have
strapped a galvanized garbage can lid to my farthest deployment but the
strangest thing happened ... I am now picking up AM/FM radio broadcasts
every time I walk under nearby telephone polls during my travels. I am

Receiving a positive note from you is always looked forward to and

Autumn has presented it's beauty with grand fanfare this year but
the other day I noticed a mature Maple tree that has now shed all
last assemblages of this fall season's splendor. Even without it's
colorful blanket of leaves it still has a quiet strength and beauty of
presence about it and was enamored by the ornate texture of the
branches as it seemed to take silent ownership of the powder blue
November afternoon sky.

The title of this entry is, "Composition in Dimensions." Hope you like
it. :)

coops,
Your lovely response is sincerely appreciated ... thank you! :)

I never know when that poetic spark decides to surface but it's
quite cold here tonight .... in the low twenties ... and noticed a
rather cheerless moon peering down at me through my window,
grabbed my camera and ventured out into the freeze.

The result of my "brief" excursion is below, titled, "Lunar Lament."
Included is the accompanying poem that also materialized rather
quickly as I was thawing out ... rather slowly. ;) :D :)

Lunar Lament ~

Oh what pray tell has wrought this sad moon ~
Once majestic, so demure, so blue ~
The passionless chill of winter's iced nights ~
Holds hostage blushed warm amorous hues ~

If only the sun would but shed lenient light ~
And restore her luminous sheen ~
Deserted she morns shedding frosted tears of her plight ~
Nocturnal summer now a distant star dream ~

Alone she glides, cold winds she rides ~
Gone the rapture of utopian shine ~
Though winter nights be cruel, she's no orbital fool ~
'Tis toward spring's ardent fancy she affectionately climbs ~

Mary Ann ~

Wow Mair,

You've been poetrizing, photo-sizing, digit-freezing, philosophic-crying. . . and paint-iflying. . .

So much to enjoy here. . . in a sad lament sort of way. . . I guess that's why they call it da blues.

It all sort of strings together in one expressionistic dream theme. I love the photo. it says "dream catcher dun catched the moon". The painting says "the heart of rock n' roll, heart of rock n' roll is still beatin'". And the poems say. . . er. . . what the pictures say but in fewer words, since a picture is worth a thousand words, I would have to say it employs far fewer. Do the math, you'll see I'm right.

Your range is extraordinary. You're very lyrical with all of these forms. Beautiful stuff, Mair.

And here I am venturing out into the frigid night (It's only 34 degrees

I am honored that you gave positive mention for the poem Lunar Lament.
All it seems to take is a midnight walk through a light sprinkling of Moon
dust to prompt a poem out of me and though I am TERRIBLE at math .....

Mairzie, i like your sad moon...

Don't you know that we'll have one, a big super sad moon, soon... :(

Best,

Weeks

Weeks,
Your response mentioning a "sad moon" inspired me to compose a short
lyric in your honor. It now can be found in my "General Chat" thread if
interested. :)

thats a wonderful painting of a leaf!

waheednasir,
Your positive critique is very rewarding to me ... sincerely, thank you! :)

I found this spent leaf in my front yard during the fall but found beauty
in it's form and autumn colors. I took a photo but the result was less
than desired because the pic. did not do justice to the natural hues that
I was seeing so I moved the image into our Art Rage paint program and
began to paint in the missing shades, then added defined detailing, some
shadowing, sketched in an extra leaf point or two then finished off with
an attractive canvas background. :)
