An exercise. I needed a name for it. My wife said "Winter Solstice". I said "why that?". She said, "It's getting closer." I said "Yes, you've got a good point." That explains everything.

It's great to see you playing again Byron. You take us places we never would think to go... thanks for the ticket. :) Fascinating.

Katie, Scott, Oriane, Albert, Sandy: thanks a lot. It's wonderful to be back in touch. Each of you is always so supportive. I hope to get caught up on what you all have been posting over the last few months. I know I'm in for some treats.

Perfect name for a fascinating image! Astronomy and ice crystals all in one for a complete winter solstice!

byroncallas,
You have just metaphorically transported me into the ... as the
song goes ... the first snowfall of the winter and what a sparkling,
exuberant vision it is. A most dazzling, color drenched expression
and as always ... beautifully painted! :)

Marvellous and modern tribute to the Sol Invictus (i.e. undefeated sun) ancient Romans celebrated in winter solstice ...
