I use layers a lot, and searching for the look I wanted in the sky, I exported the sky I painted in "Into The Unknown",imported it into this painting, then flipped it vertically. Gave me just the look I wanted.
Thank you very much! :)

Barney, this is a jam. So cute, that it warms everybody's heart. And the sky so pretty, as usually. Love this work a lot.

barnburner,
What a spendid winter's holiday piece. If you've ever experienced being
out in the mist of a new fallen snow, there is a gentle quiet that seems
to fill the air. You can almost hear the crystalline white crispness of the
atmosphere ... the newly fallen snow almost acting like a thick cozy
flannel blanket, absorbing all unnessary sounds but for the soft crunching
of your boots ( or hoofs! ;) ) as you access the beauty of the engaging
Norman Rockwell like display.

Your painting seems to have that feeling, nostalgic with a hushed but
contented resolve of Santa's destination ... where there is a crackling
fire to greet this welcomed traveler and hot chocolate to warm his
rosy winterized cheeks. A most charming painting and most fetching art
work ... just love it! :)

M.D. - I truly appreciate your beautiful kind words.
I always loved the Norman Rockwell paintings, and I'm sure that was an influence here, plus I liked the idea of throwing a touch of humor in the mix.
Thank you so much! :)

Many thanks Caesar. I think I may use this painting for our Christmas cards this year since it seems to have been well received by the folks here.
Thank you very much. :)
