Ref photo...The tower was built in 1897, he was the founder of Iowa's city (Dubuque), it over looks the Mississippi River...done in oil and knife

A tiny tower against no threat. A really peaceful view and a good composition driving there and beyond. :)
Incidentally I noticed that it's older than I am .... :D

Quite a small tower, I wonder what it was:) built for. The painting looks quite peaceful in its sourrounding indeed.

Jasmine, I had forgot to put in that he was buried in this very spot, so the monument is like a grave stone, thanks for looking;)

If I ever go thru Iowa again, I'd like to make it a point to stop and see this tower.

A peaceful and soft painting. I love the shadows on the path:D There is a similar tower on Cape Cod where we used to live. I used to love to climb the tower and watch the sun set over the bay.:):)
