Saw this wonderful 1940's Fire Truck on a ride last autumn. Thought I would try painting it. I used the ink pen, pencil but mostly the blending felt tip for the paint job.

Wonderful job Steve... I love those old cars and trucks.
My first car was a 1950 Ford.

Like that truck. My father makes fire trucks for a living and my uncles and grandad were all fireman. This reminded me of my grandad. He loved old vehicles and fighting fires. :)

A really fine work! :eek::cool::)
I agree with You also considering some European and Italian car models of that period, even if I'm obviously not that old to see them getting out brand new from the production line ...:D

Thanks ArtRagers for all the positive feedback!!!:D:D Being a line artist (pencil or Pen & Ink), I never would have thought that I could paint anything:( But with tips and tutorials from ArtRagers, I think it may be possible. Maybe some day I will graduate from the felt tip tool to real paint:confused::p

A wonderful painting of a great old truck, , I'm old enough to remember the 40s and those times were better LOL. I really like the felt pen, one can get good control with it :D

I've seen a lot of fire engines recently (My son adores them), and this one looks great. In fact it would be very appealing to my little one - it has the look of the very best type of children's illustrations; almost real, but with a touch of whimsy and nostalgia. Great stuff.
