This is part of the trail to my sister's horse pasture. I've painted several times, if it seems familiar. One layer, from scratch. Oils.

The whole reason I did this was to practice that dappled light. It's so hard to get it to look like light as opposed to a lot of extraneous debris!

Caesar - Sometimes it comes easier if I have painted the area before. I have now painted this bit of the trail enough to do it from memory. When you find a scenic spot, I recommend using it more than once. It will look different every time...
