Treat the earth well.
It was not given to you by your parents,
it was loaned to you by your children.
We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors,
we borrow it from our Children.

Ancient Indian Proverb

For sure Peter. My grandmother taught us so many things. She saved and reused everything that she could. She had a garden with herbs for seasoning and healing, grew her food, had flowers that attracted the beneficial insects, and had an ongoing compost area to enrich and nourish her food.
She reused all garbage-for seeding, bird houses, canning, even made garbage cans out of egg containers sewn together. She reused all clothing to make quilts, all sewn by hand.

Great painting and an important lesson to reflect upon. A reminder for us to listen to what those wise chiefs of the past had discovered.

I remember as a young boy thinking how could the previous generation let such terrible things happen. But here I sit as a grown man, witnessing the same, if not worse things happening.
