I have always found wheels to be a source of frustration, as the proportions and perspective are difficult to get right the first time.

ArtRage allows creation of very realistic fast drawings through the use of layers and the ruler tools. In this example of a farm tractor the left wheels are located in a lower layer. The right wheels are in the front layer. The body of the tractor will be completed in the middle layer. Using the transform tool will allow me to correct the wheel spacing and correct for perspective. These corrections can be made after blocking in the body in the middle. All layers were drawn on a cel canvas to allow total transparency.

I plan to update this thread as I complete the layers.

Looking forward to following this.
First vehicle I ever drove was an old Farmall when I was about 8 years old back in Arkansas.

Added part of the cowling and mower blade then made some space adjustments. This is a lot of detail but also a lot of fun. Thanks for you encouraging comments.

Great accuracy this far and diligent perpective laws use. I'm pretty sure You'll come out with a marvel, dear Steve!

Interesting approach. Love seeing the progress. Keep in mind the farthest large wheel and also the farthest small wheel should be smaller than their nearer corresponding wheels in perspective. Looking good though.

All most there! To do .... add more shading (outer wheel hub), combine layers, start under painting. Add some suggestion of a background.

Hi...

There is something missing on the back right wheel... the part near the shadow...

By the way, it is going real great. So much patience from you!

Ah Yes, I see it now that you point it out. I went nuts on a lower layer. Now I just need to erase that shadow on the lower layer. That's why I like to sleep on changes. Thanks for pointing that out kaiko.
