Just playing with chrome effect. This is quite loose, but I just wanted to share. I don't think I've seen one of these yet.

Very nice experiment and outcome, dear Skylar!:):):)
Fortunately we're almost in Autumn, so we are going to see soon David in his full (and innocuous) masterpiece splendour and not with a leaf-like sexy tanga as a dark queen on the beach. :p
Actually such a disfigurement already happened to some of the greatest masterpieces in a period when a silly prude Pope got a number of pudenda (private parts) and breasts veiled ... a much worse attempt to art indeed!
Dear Anna, in Florence (Firenze) there are quite a number of exposed phalli (phalluses) rather than falls, one hanging from a the copy of this Michelangelo's David in Piazza della Signoria and nobody was ever scandalized, not even during the Inquisition period.:D

Thanks everybody! I remembered after the fact that D was actually not supposed to be presented Au Naturel on this forum. I laughed at Sandy's correction as I airbrushed said leaf into place.
Caesar - Not only am I familiar with the period where the master works were ordered covered, but have studied the Renaissance, first hand. I love Italy. It was my first choice for retirement for years. Costa Rica has won out because of my Marilyn's failing eyesight, and her desire to see the great birds that migrate thru it, before she loses all ability to see. What Irony. She is a bird lover, and I am an artist. Those creatures and my images will slowly fade from her. (Macular degeneration)

Dear Skylar, Have you and Marilyn considered an alternative consultation with a knowledgeable holistic MD? There is now important news and knowledge concerning macular degeneration. Many resulting from thyroid deficiency and the bodies inability to absorb critical nutrients resulting in this disease. The Cambridge Institute is saving many eyesight issues and reversing problems. My mother in law goes to a fantastic eye specialist that uses conventional and alternative treatments and she is now on all natural pharmaceutical grade supplements that has saved her eye sight from a severe case of glaucoma because she was unable to take anymore surgery and conventional medications-all this through her fantastic knowledgeable surgeon specialist. If I had listened to a pediatrician and family physician about "save your money"-I would not have my daughter with me today, nor my sister in law and my son...I will stop here. I get pretty angry when I write about what happened to my children because of poor treatment and total ignorance.

Dearest Skylar, what You said is quite sad for me to know and I heartfeltly hope (and pray for) that such an apparent adverse doom may be reverted by some medecine progress, unconventional treatment or even a miracle.
My wife and myself could directly realize, although not in a much comparable case, how frustrating bad news and a suddenly occurred and significant limitation to some of our faculties can be, so I'm absolutely empathic with You two and really wish You all the best; sometimes an occasional event provides an unespected solution though.
Moreover, fortunately, persons can adjust to any hard situation well beyond what we may believe, especially very special ones whose value exceeds by far our natural forces and body and can enjoy always new aspects of life, intelligence, sentiments, beauty and magical moments. I'm sure Your wife and Yourself are among them.

L Skylar Brown,
Excellent metallic tonal application and detailing with this highly polished
David. Quite a unique and spectacular presentation of the familiar classic.
Well painted! :)
