Johannes Vermeer 1632-1675, Dutch Master. Girl With Pearl Earring, 1666.
I tried this one a couple of times before in acrylics with mixed results, paints dried to quick to blend just right. Been working on this one on and off for a couple of months. Love the fact that I can continue to blend at will with AR. I managed to get a large ref pic for this but the oils showed the signs of cracking after almost 400 years, with AR I could pick the colors needed to try and achieve this effect.
Oils, airbrush, knives, 5 layers.... AR SP.

Hi Tony,

Superb work, I've tried it in Oils and Acrylics too. Much, much harder than it looks.

Tony, very very beautiful, I would say done to perfection, I did a copy of Rubens on canvas a long time ago, and have been thinking of doing it in AR so you have given me the courage to at least try......love all your artwork;);):):)

Tonyjazz,
I am familiar with Vermeer's "Girl With Pearl Earring" and your painting
is quite stunning, an accurate representation of period art but with
your own personalized creative sensibilities shining through. An
absolutely beautifully rendered portrait! :)

eighty+,
I would not even begin to tackle painting a representation of an
ageless masterpiece but you have also excelled with your version.
Very impressive artwork! :)

Thanks all for looking and comments on this artwork. Vermeer was way ahead of his time with his realism and palette.
E+, I don't mind at all that you posted your rendition. Studying past masters is always a good learning experience.........TJ
