~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am a dedicated admirer of orianelima's wonderful textured paintings
and was elated to find that our honorable resident artist was kind
enough to add instructions on thick paint application using the spatula
tool as mentioned in his thread, "Ouro Preto." I could not wait to try
the unique style and the result is a piece titled, "PINK." My reference
is a photo that I took of a recently received bouquet of lovely flowers.
Here's hoping that you and orianelima will find this first time endeavor
satisfactory. :)
Dear MaryAnn, you've chosen that rarely used pink that is so delicate and attractive along with the shades of green that compliment it so well. What a beautiful flower and what a beautiful painting!:):):):):)
McClay,
What a wonderful response, thank you! Was up all night painting "PINK."
Could not stop until I was satisfied with the results. Spent much time
testing the various spatula tool settings in order to find the texture
results that seemed to work. :)
Had to come up with a quick subject to try "texture" on so decided to
refer to a recent photo of a bouquet of received flowers, in particular the
pink blooms, see below, which have now sadly, seen better days.
Mairzie, I am lost. It is the truth.
Your first picture very much was pleasant to me.
Only I am afraid to tell that the second (this) is pleasant to me even more :)
I could not understand your message precisely. It does me sad :( We, with my wife, gathered for English courses, but and have not gathered :D
Alexandra,
I have always admired orianelima's thick, textured paint works of art and
literally had his outstanding "Ouro Preto" painting and how to instructions
in front of me during the entire time that I was attempting to create
"PINK" with hopes that I might accomplish a decent rendition of his most
elegant style. Thank you for your lovely response. :)
McClay,
The second entry is a photo that I took of a recently received delivery
of flowers. The lovely pink blossoms in the bouquet inspired me to paint
one of them for the painting, "PINK." Had to finally discard the fresh
flowers yesterday because of a severe "droop" factor. Took that photo
when they were at their peak of vibrant beauty. Cut flowers never last
long and it always makes me sad when the time comes to say goodbye
to them but do have that photo and now the painting as a fond memory. :)
Mairzie, what a beautiful painting. The colors are delicate and precise. The effect of impasto that you got, delicate texture, which accurately reflects the lights and shine the paint is precious. Very cool. Thanks for the reference. Very kind of you.:)
I was doing but somehow it came together through trial, error and lots of
tea cup refills. :D You are so kind ... many thanks! :)
shechat,
Am so glad that you approve. :) Was so hoping that my first try at
impasto would not result in appearing like a canvas that was
dripping with multi colored globs of semi melted Crayola crayons. :eek: :D
Heeeey ... wonder if I could ... gee ... sounds like I may have come
up with a new inspiration for "thick paint" painting number two! :D :)
Dear Caesar,
I am confident that the artistic side of you might agree ... 'Tis never a
change of season but only new journey's to travel and explore in each
of the four. If we'd only look within, ... what wondrous discoveries we
might find. A most ardent thank you! :)
Juz,
You are so kind, thank you! I really worked on the texture. Since the
subject was a soft pink flower, attempted to allude a sense of delicacy
to the piece ... not too thick nor too thin paint application I thought. :)
SCP,
What a nice compliment, thank you!:) Being true to my own insecure
painterly self, had to go back and tweak two small areas in the piece.
I doubt that the changes are noticable but I feel allllll the better for it.
I can now move on and feel quite creatively unsettled about my next
entry. :eek: :D :)
Magen Sparks,
It is so gratifying to receive such warm responses as yours .....
Thank you! My all night painterly endeavor with "PINK" was the
result of orianelima's gracious impasto instructions. Without it I
could have possibly created the PINK BLOB from MARS!!! :eek: :D :)
