View Full Version : Crazy horse

Just an imaginary painting of a mustang having fun on a wide plain.
I should start copying again horses (or go looking them at least) since my sense of proportions seem to need memory updating/ improvement.

Lovely painting and colours of this great frisky young fellow :)

He doesn't look crazy to me, Caesar, contrary, he appears very comunicative, cute and happy horsie... prehaps he is looking for a friend or two... thats all i see....very pleasant study, like the colors and muscle tone of his/her body.:)

Looks like hes having fun!

Thank You, dear Barnburner, Paul, Amanda, Kenmo, Suzanne, JustJean, Anna and Scott, this young rascal is evidently having a lot of fun and seems to appreciate his shining blonde and just curried hair ...

Very well done. Nice.

Thank You, dear Oriane. Anyway, once again I eventually didn't dare to go with thick paint ...:(:)

He looks quite friendly! He's smiling, Caesar....

I guess I projected my good mood on it, dear Foxy, that's why it's smiling!:p
Thank You!:)
I'm kidding. Imagination couldn't evidently provide a better memory after too much time away from horses viems and/ or drawing/ painting copying excercises.
For instance I just realized at least one reason why proportions don't convince me. The neck is probably to long and standing. some other measures of some leg and the chest may be wrong in this perspective I didn't build, only put down intuitively on a quick sketch ...

What an adorable horse Cesare, well done!:)

Drawing from memory can be challenging if one hasn't made many drawings of the same type to learn the landscape so to speak. I think you did quite well.

... and the head is quite big and high and should be elongated, while the front chest is too wide .... It looks more a colt.
Still finding flaws, dear Sandra, according to my wife's warm appreciation, but some perplexities (on smiling and proportion doubts). You know she was a horse rider when she was younger.
Nonetheless, thank You very much!

They seem to match the horse's attitude and mood, dear Katie. Thank You!

Your painting looks great from my perspective.

OMG I love this Dear Caesar. Love horses;

Very elegant creature (not crazy at all):):)

Thank You, dear Val! How not to like these noble creatures?

Dear Nika, since the idea was to have a free mustang horse joyfully living in the open and the nature, I associate it also to what could have been the dream of the Sioux chief Crazy Horse ... Thank You!
