The Rio de las Palmas was one of the original names of the Rio Grande that runs down from New Mexico and along the Texas border to the Gulf of Mexico.

Great play of color! There┤s something strange about this one that I can┤t quite put into words--not talking about a bad sort of strange.

Yup. . . now you're kicking booty. . . you're really on to something very strong graphically. Plus it's so evocative and artistic. Great watching your artistic journey. :):):):):)

This painting is absolutely beautiful, dear Al.
Colours and shapes in here are the most harmonically clashing completary ones and seems to be coming directly from an appropriate mix of expressionist and fauves artists or something simultaneously almost as elegant as a CÚzanne and as boldy colourful as a Matisse.

Thanks to everyone for the high praise! I've been reading Paul Horgan's masterpiece "Great River -- The Rio Grande in North American History" and this one is a direct result. There are some other stories and images that I'm getting from this book that I want to paint as well! Al
