"I remember countless nights at Birdland, going to see the classic Coltrane quartet. I remember being totally captured, awed, and inspired by that music. Rocking back and forth in my chair, taken to the outer limits of my own existence and filled with an unexplainable beauty, I allowed Coltrane to reach me. I often wonder if he ever realized what he did for me or any of the other hundreds of thousands of fans that he had on the planet. By reaching inside himself, he reached inside all of us..."

Al - I remember those days, those halcyon days of smoky jazz clubs, and music so cool. It was a time we can cherish. Thanks for your refreshing image!

Looks great. I like this movement toward a visual hierarchy with your color. It makes the bright colors all the more purposeful, like the descriptive and somewhat mysterious power of rim light vs a room lamp. Both have their uses. One has more drama.

I also recall colored stage lighting where the edges of the illuminated forms are really blurry. And this captures that kind of feel in a stylized way. I like the tonal showmanship quality. Speaks of your perspective from having spent time in that kind of environment, I would venture.

Nice one! :):):):):)
