I actually did this at the same time as the Rose & Bud, but felt it wasn't as good, so decided to wait to post it, so it wouldn't be compared. Sounds pretty Cautious!
AND - I wanted to post something other than the Fantasy Stuff I'm working on right now.

This is beautiful. I especially love the way you've captured the firmness of the green around the emerging bud and the soft velvety feel of the petals on the bloomed flower. I can see the texture of them both and the contrast between them.

Thank you for sharing.

Skylar....these flowers you painted are just dropped dead gorgeous - almost like the "real" thing! The only difference is you put so much more care and love into these flowers as though you grew them yourself. I guess in a way, you did! ;) Wonderful...........

Magen and Alex - Thank you so much for commenting.
Eileen - I have to laugh at your comment, as this is my own Ginger plant in my garden - I indeed grew it myself! Thank you!! This was the last cluster of blooms before it went dormant for the season. (I did add the bud for a sort-of Exclamation mark)

Great palette! And I love the satiny quality of the whites. Well done! :):):):):)

D Akey - Thanks so much! I always try to limit my palette, (tho I love the challenge of painting "Whites" they are never just white). It seems a more dramatic presentation for me to limit color use. There are others who use color with abandon and achieve great effect, however.

Great job on the whites it really does make the piece pop. Maybe I should say apparent whites because they are not really white. You did a fine job on this.

Carl - Thanks so much. You are right. They are not whites. I have held classes explaining white isn't white, but a series of subtle colors and shades. True whites are usually reserved for the brightest highlights.
