An aquatic metamorphosis, Ms Coops. . .a transformation, plants turning to the light in a photosynthesis, becoming moths in order to go even closer to the light. . . when the vine is too limited, too rooted, the outermost reaching leaves escape their natural limitations and manage flight upward toward the light . . . an alchemist's dream perhaps. . . or are they butterflies?

Hugely evocative Ms. Coops. A full story in this one.

Thank you so much Jibes, Dany, Barnburner,Sandra, dear Oriane, Valerie, Evart, Jean and dear Mr Akey for your lovely comments. It was just one of those paintings that the imagination just took over. Dear Mr Akey again you paint a picture with your oh so clever use of words. Yes they are butterflies so maybe I should have called it Butterfly Dreams lol.:)

Dear Katie, is there a castle with a giant inhabitant on the clouds this magical pea plan is heading to? Or is it just a phototropism effect?
This image would be an absolutely stunning fantasy art painting and much more, with a light and perspective just marvellous!

It's been quite amazing to witness the process of evolution that you've been going through over the course of your last several paintings. This one probably more than the others. Though the colors are subdued, the ideation is transcendent. What I see here is Life giving birth to Life. While it is fanciful to think of a plant giving birth to a butterfly under the light of a celestial body, isn't that really the way of it in a manner of speaking? (Creationists ... think in terms of "celestial body" being your Creator)

I completely love this, the colors relax me and the composition does a great job having your eyes follow though to the butterfly's.
