Took a picture this week of a decidely wintery tree and had quite a bit of fun dressing it up for Spring......it's a bit of a confection. Except for a bit of color adjustment with Gimp, this one is all ArtRage Pro.

Oh, for heaven's sake, Foxy.....this is just so gorgeous! I think I'll mark this as one of my favorites of yours! Love the boldness of your colors and the wonderful color melody as a whole. I hope this painting brings on Springtime real soon!

Thanks, everyone! At least for here in Indiana, Springe is definitely on it's way (although it's hard to believe that when parts of the state still have 15 inches of snow.) The give-away is the strength of the sun....the rays are so much warmer on your skin now than they were even two weeks ago.

For you who like the colors of this, I definitely recommend playing with the exclusion blend mode....the results often remind me of Maxfield Parish and pair well with cobalt blue.

Rose, the first time I experimented with Gimp, I was very new with digital manipulation and couldn't for the life of me figure it out (I just barely new what layers are.) ArtRage 2 actually helped me quite a bit with Gimp because, being so userfriendly and rather basic, it made the fundamental Gimp concepts very familiar and not as intimidating.
Bearing in mind, I've never used Photoshop, so I don't know how the two compare.

OK FoxtT - this pops right into my favorites folder. I love the construction, the coloring, the impeccable balance - the fine integration of every pixel it seems. It to me is one of those magical little images that just somehow has come together perfectly. Wonderfully joyful and alive. Top drawer this one. :):):):)
