Do you remember my Van Gogh-like ArtRage paintings? I send one of them to a canvas printing company and let it printed on real painter's canvas: 80 x 60 cm. The quality of the canvas print is amazingly good. I had one mishap, my signature was too close to the edge of my canvas and felt off.

I finished the printed canvas with a transparant glossy gel medium (I used Talens Amsterdam Gloss Gel Medium 094 for acrylics (www.talens.com)) with a rough pork hair paint brush. The medium gel gives the printed canvas a paintery look. Now it is very, very hard to find out whether this painting is digitally made or with traditional paint.

I put it in a frame and it's now decorating my office wall. Soon I will show new paintings, printed and varnished on real canvas, framed.

The specific gel mediums can be found here:

Dear Vincent Van Briex, :D
a very useful hint and demo for an absolutely impressive outcome!
If I may ask, what was, roughly, the price for printing on canvas in such a size pls? In case You used an online order, what was the site You selected?
Thanks a lot in advance

I think you have a lot of us wondering how we might have this done with our paintings. Thanks for the inspiration!

wow wow wow briex, brilliant idea, I have been wanted to get my art on canvas for a while now, but the price puts me off, I want to sell them but I doubt folks will pay. I like the gloss idea  does it protect agains light damage?

I ordered the canvas print from a local Dutch canvas printer (though one of the best in the Netherlands). Their colours and canvas material are superb. You can choose for 2 cm and 4 cm thick canvas wood frame. The price I paid was 38 euros (delivered).

Here are the sizes and prices they offer for canvas printing:

Jules, for the moment they have no English option nor shipment outside Holland and Belgium. I called the company to ask if they are planning a worldwide service in the near future. They will give me feedback later.

Anyway, it's incredible to see that canvas printing gives such a realistic output of an ArtRaged painted artwork. Traditional painting for me has become now really history. ArtRage is the future.

Thanks a lot, dear Briex! The price seems competitive and your grant on the quality is a plus!
I had the same question than Jules. The mix of English and German I know would not be sufficient to deal in Dutch, I apologize.
Moreover there's the issue of delivery in European countries other than Holland and Belgium, Italy in my case.
Finally I hope Paypal payments are accepted (quite an easy and secure money transfer type).

Warmest Regards

Jules, that looks good! Almost every country has its own local canvas print companies. I notice that everywhere there's a serious price and quality difference between canvas printers. It's worth to find out first which is the best: colours, material, price wise.
