I've been hanging out with the horses this week, getting ready for the trail Rides and Rodeo here in Houston. Obviously, I paint what is in front of me. I love this beautiful horse, Sierra - (My Sister's, not mine) The title comes from the great Dan Fogelberg's song.

Flashy painting! Love the contrast. You used it to make it really dynamic, much like the horse I presume.

The way the golden light illuminates the horse's head gives her a very knowing and regal air. Great painting!

I like the horse as it is painted here... happy, in the bright light, ready to go... Lovely contrast here, it makes the whole picture sing its story...Very well done. :)

You have captured the look on the horse's face perfectly. Almost want to reach out and stroke the head of the animal. Terrific rendering.
