View Full Version : Sleeping baby

I just finished this today, and boy am I tired. Whew, I haven't gone to bed yet, I've been up all night. When I start a painting, I have to finish it. :) So, with that being said, here it is. This was created in three AR layers.
I had to adjust his skin tone with contrast, in my computer paint program.
I hope you all like it.

I can think of nothing that looks more content than when my children are sleeping especially when they were still babies. You captured this well. Very nice.

Don't get me started. The baby looks very content. Far more than I am with a deadline looming. Would love to sleep that well. Maybe if I wore one piece jammies . . .

You really have captured a serenity and charm. I've said it before but it still holds true. You're growing so fast. . . like your resting creative alter ego here, hahah.

Brava! :):):)

What a precious image - and so tenderly painted.

He is lovely Evart :):)I very much like the posture that he is sleeping in very much like a real one:D

Your images have always displayed a level of admirable innocence. With this one you've reached a new plateau with both the shading and the way you've captured the inherent serenity and trusting peace of your subject matter. There's a well of potential psychological references here including the coccoon that surrounds and protects him and the ragged edges that suggest the dream state.
I'm seeing a growing degree of both confidence and attention to detail that is serving you well.
It's immediately obvious that you painted this one from the heart. That's why it "speaks".
Well done Kiddo. :)

Thank you so much as212, skylar, mannafig, Jasminek, and Robertswade for all of your encouraging comments. They have truely touched my heart, and I am so grateful. :)

Well, Evart....I'm joining this bandwagon, too! This painting is as precious and wonderful as the baby you've painted! What a great job you've done even though you stayed up all night doing it! I find myself doing that with a lot of things since I am not much of a sleeper.

Thank you Eileen :D
