View Full Version : Something Silly: For Valentine's Day

I made Valentine's Cards for my girls to hand out to their classmates this year.....these are a quick project made with clipart from Dover's CD-roms, ArtRage 2.5 and the Gimp (for the background tiles.) I find that when I'm struggling creatively, projects like this are just plain fun...easy and rewarding.....

Caesar, Barn, Amanda, Paul and Juz, thanks for taking a look!
Caesar, I'm making a half-baked attempt to see a few of these graphics over at Etsy, but the market is so saturated and I'm already plenty busy that I'm not working real hard at it.
Juz, I think the sparrow is my favourite...I've loved that one ever since I bought the clipart collection 2 years ago! Wish I knew who the original artist was....
And Amanda, I honestly think my girls would have been happier with ICarly or Pokemon valentines....oh, well......this was a bit cheaper and hopefully years down the line they'll remember that we made them together (we're going to hand-address them and mount them on pretty scrapbook paper.)

Turned out great, and as someone else said above--I´ll bet they´re going to be a great hit with your girls and their friends! You must be a SuperMom. :D

These are just absolutely adorable!!! It makes me want to make homemade valentine cards and I don't have any young children any longer! When my sisters and I were young, we use to make homemade birthday cards and Mother's Day cards each year for my mom. She saved all of those year after year. With so many daughters (6!!), she had quite a collection after awhile! :)

Thanks for the good words, everyone.
Let me repeat, I didn't draw the graphics! One of these days, I'd like to have the time to learn to draw such cute critters....maybe for my grandchildren.
And alas, Scott, I'm not a SuperMom. But I'm trying to at least do my best...
Eileen, my sister and I made so many cards as children! That was the "thing we did" at grandma's. 6 girls! My dad came from a family of 6 daughters...I can't begin to imagine how crazy it would be with that many females in one house.
