I was working on this color abstract and i was trying to figure out where to take it, and nothing came to mind. Then it hit me, the background reminded me of a dreamlike state.

The rest is history, i took a page from the classic comic and put it on a seperate layer and erased the page around Nemo.

Neato effect i thought :)

Mike

P.S.

Does anyone use the word "neato" anymore?

It is a perfect background for the concept, I think. It conveys the idea to a child that it's OK to enter a "dream state". It can be a place of happy, primary colors.

As a cartoonist, Slumberland fan and lover of the kinds of colors you're using here, this painting really does it for me. Great, great great!

Spectacular and nice revival of an old, great comics character!
What "neato" stands for? I'm aethymologically curious because it looks and sounds as some distorted spelling of a word from another language than English.

It's always neat to hear how one's imagination takes them from one point to another! This is just delightful and I love how you came about to get here. How neat...or should I say slang it and say, "Neato!", like Evart delightfully would (just for you Caesar!)!!!

What I like is that there is an immediate story to the eyes.
