Yes Sandy I do paint oil on canvas but its been such a long since I have the old easel out.:)

On one level, this is a lovely painting of flowers and I admire it as such. On another level, the negative space of the white petals adds an element of modern abstraction that can be read by the eyes as an object in front of the background or a white "hole" in the painting.

This is a great effect, it makes you aware of the painting as a window showing a subject while at the same time you are aware of it as a collection of shapes on a flat surface. Nice job!
